General Motors Co’s (GM.N) vehicle sales in China rose 12 percent in August from a year earlier to 328,425 units, following a 6.3 percent increase in July, the Detroit-based automaker said on Tuesday.
BEIJING (Reuters) – General Motors Co’s (GM.N) vehicle sales in China rose 12 percent in August from a year earlier to 328,425 units, following a 6.3 percent increase in July, the Detroit-based automaker said on Tuesday.
GM’s January-August sales totaled 2.38 million vehicles, a 0.3 percent gain from the same period a year ago.
GM’s sales figures come on the heels of relatively strong sales numbers reported on Monday by Honda Motor Co(7267.T) and Toyota Motor Corp.(7203.T)
Honda said its sales in August grew 20.6 percent to 128,671 vehicles, while Toyota’s sales volume of 108,500 vehicles were up 13.2 percent ahead year-on-year.
